Want the online version? Let me know.
People who you don’t necessarily know–are looking for you. And for your business. And they’re doing it either by asking a search engine, like Google, or asking the people in their networks. Search and Social Media are the tools we use to find the information we want and the people we want to do business with. Can the people looking for you find your content?
I’ve been teaching some variation of this class since 2005 at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Often, that class is two 7-hour marathon days. By demand, I’m doing the course over five weeks so you can learn — and make changes to your site — in real time.
Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing, I believe, is a literacy issue. If you are a business owner, someone managing their online identity, a non-profit, etc. you need to know how search works. Google (and other search engines) dictate what we know. This class is like the epistemology of the internet. I use words like that, but only sometimes.
Who Should Take This Class? You manage a website or own a business, a non-profit, are an artist, selling ______ online. Regardless, you need to know how search engines work. You need to learn how to get other, notable sites to point to your website, how to create search-friendly, relevant content, and how to make that content spread.
This class is five weeks. Optimize your site, optimizing your off-line content, and build strong back-linking relationships. In this class, you’ll learn:
- How Search Engines Work
- How to Optimize on-site content
- How to Create a Link-Building Strategy
- How to run a Pay-Per-Click Advertising Campaign
- What to Pay Attention to In Analytics
- How Search Engine Marketing Can Affect Your Business
